About Allegheny Islands

A unique 50-acre park consisting of three alluvial islands in the Allegheny River, accessible only by boat. The undeveloped islands remain in their natural state, providing habitat for diverse wildlife and offering primitive camping opportunities. Located northeast of Pittsburgh, the islands are named for their distances from the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
