About Upper Fort Garry Heritage Provincial Park
Upper Fort Garry Heritage Provincial Park preserves the birthplace of Manitoba and commemorates the 1870 decision to form the Province of Manitoba. The 3.5-acre urban heritage park features the original stone gate (built 1850) from the historic Hudson's Bay Company fur trading post, a 440-foot Heritage Wall tracing western Canadian history, and interpretive elements including sound and light shows.
