About Twin Falls Gorge Territorial Park

Iconic park home to Alexandra Falls (32m, third highest in NWT) and Louise Falls (15m, three-tiered). Traditional Dene lore: two falls are spirits (Grandmother and Grandfather) protecting area. Features 400-million-year-old limestone formations. Three main areas: Alexandra Falls Day Use, Louise Falls Campground & Day Use, Escarpment Creek Group Campsite. Connected by 2.2 km boardwalk trail. 138-step spiral staircase to Louise Falls viewpoint. Located 75 km north of Alberta border, 47 km from Hay River, along rim of Twin Falls Gorge.
