About Tombstone Territorial Park

Tombstone Territorial Park protects rugged peaks, permafrost landforms and wildlife including sections of the Blackstone Uplands and Ogilvie Mountains. Named for Tombstone Mountain's resemblance to a grave marker. Contains five big game species and approximately 150 bird species. Geologically unique with the Cretaceous Tombstone Suite igneous belt. Central Yukon, near the southern end of the Dempster Highway (km 50.5 to 115.0), nearest city is Dawson City. Created as legacy of land settlement agreement with Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation. Jointly managed by territorial government and Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation
