About Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park
Located 1 km west of Iqaluit on Baffin Island, featuring the Sylvia Grinnell River flowing from Sylvia Grinnell Lake into Peterhead Inlet with a dramatic waterfall. A viewing platform sits 55m above the falls. Named in 1861 by explorer Charles Hall for Sylvia Grinnell, daughter of his benefactor. Easy 30-minute walk from Iqaluit city center. Known as Iqaluit Kuunga in Inuktitut.
