About Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) State Forest
Massachusetts' first state forest, established when the Daughters of the American Revolution donated 1,020 acres to the Commonwealth. The forest now encompasses 1,728 acres and features 15 miles of hiking trails, camping facilities with 51 campsites, Upper and Lower Highland Lakes for swimming and fishing, and a historic fire observation tower. Located in the towns of Goshen and Ashfield in western Massachusetts.
