About Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area
This internationally significant wetland protects vital habitat for the greater snow goose migration, attracting nature lovers 50km northeast of Quebec City. The reserve features 20 kilometers of well-marked hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult, complete with lookout towers, observation decks, and a full interpretation center showcasing biodiversity exhibits. Open May through October, visitors can explore diverse habitats supporting 325+ bird species and 30 mammal species. Plan 2-4 hours to experience trail hiking, wildlife observation, photography, and geocaching. Designated as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance in 1981, Cap Tourmente offers picnic facilities, washrooms, and interactive programs, making it an ideal destination promoted by Visit Québec City's official tourism site.
