Natural Area - Alberta, Canada
Northwest of Bruderheim Natural Area features upland sand dunes and sandy plateaus interspersed with low wetlands. The plant communities consist of jack pine-lichen woodlands on uplands, with black spruce-tamarack/Labrador tea wetlands, dwarf birch-willow wetlands, and sedge-cotton grass meadows in the lowlands. The Natural Area is named after the nearby community of Bruderheim, which was established by three brothers (from German 'bruder' meaning brother and 'heim' meaning home).
