J.J. Collett Natural Area features rolling landscapes and a variety of plant communities including shrublands, aspen stands and meadows. White spruce grows on moist, shady hillsides, while prairie crocus flourishes on grassy slopes and in open woodlands. A small stream fed by wetlands winds through the area, forming a pond. The area is home to numerous bird species along with deer, coyote, and porcupine populations.
