About Flinders Chase
Covering over 326 square kilometres on the western end of Kangaroo Island, this iconic sanctuary was South Australia's second national park when declared in 1919. Home to the famous Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, the park protects abundant wildlife including koalas, platypus, long-nosed fur seals, and over 100 bird species. Following the devastating 2019-2020 bushfires that burnt 96% of the park, the landscape is undergoing remarkable natural regeneration with native plants adapted to fire sprouting back vigorously.
