About Ulidarra
Ulidarra National Park is a subtropical rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest park in the Clarence Valley of northern New South Wales, located in the ranges between Grafton and Dorrigo. Covering approximately 6,740 hectares, the park protects significant areas of subtropical rainforest, warm temperate rainforest, and tall wet sclerophyll forest on the escarpment ranges of the Clarence Valley. The park contributes to the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area.
Wildlife Ecosystems
Ulidarra National Park supports subtropical and warm temperate rainforest wildlife. The superb lyrebird inhabits the moist forest gullies. The platypus occurs in permanent streams. Diverse rainforest birds including the Wompoo fruit-dove are present. Yellow-bellied gliders and greater gliders use old-growth eucalypts.
Flora Ecosystems
Subtropical rainforest with bangalow palms and diverse vine forest species dominates sheltered gullies and slopes. Warm temperate rainforest with coachwood occurs on cooler aspects. Tall wet sclerophyll forest with flooded gum and blue gum covers the mid slopes. The tree fern communities in the gullies are outstanding.
Geology
The park is underlain by basaltic rocks and metamorphic rocks associated with the escarpment of the Clarence Valley. The moist escarpment conditions support the rainforest communities.
Climate And Weather
Warm subtropical to warm temperate climate. Annual rainfall approximately 1,400 to 2,000 millimetres on the escarpment. Warm humid summers, mild winters.
Human History
The Gumbaynggirr people are the traditional custodians of the Clarence Valley. The rainforest was logged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Ulidarra National Park was established as part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area conservation network.
