The park provides important habitat for woodland birds including hooded robins and diamond firetails. The Murray River adjacent to the park supports platypus and Murray turtles.

Flora Ecosystems

The vegetation of Mount Granya State Park is dominated by dry and damp sclerophyll forest, with grey box, red box, narrow-leaf peppermint, and mountain grey gum the primary eucalypts. Heathland communities of banksias and various heaths occur on drier ridges. River peppermint and manna gum woodland occurs near the Murray River margin. Spring wildflower displays include native orchids and wattle flowers.
